Living in the desert had been a challenge for me when it came to my skin. I had tried an array of different all natural skin care products, only to be disappointed time and time again. This is when I realized it was time to make the perfect face cream for Moonrise Creek Herbal. Three years later, this is still a shop favorite!

The oils in this formula coat, soothe, protect and most importantly, hold the water in your skin. This blend of ingredients penetrates the epidermal layer of the skin and moisturizes the dermal layer of the skin. Believe me when I say that a little goes a long way! Just a pea size dab, emulsified between your fingers, will coat the skin with just the right amount. There will be a temporary feeling of oiliness on your skin, but it will quickly be absorbed, leaving your skin feel like heaven.

NEW FORMULATION: It was about time we make our moisturizer safe for summer months and all day use. This lead me to doing some research about finding a new deeply penetrating butter as well as natural materials to protect the skin from the powerful rays of the sun. First off, we added Kokum Butter, which is found in the seeds of the Kokum Tree which is native to the central east region of India. It has a smooth, dense texture, promotes skin elasticity, prevents skin dryness, and restores damaged skin. It exhibits excellent emollient properties and has a high oxidative stability and also contains Vitamin E. How could I possibly not put this incredible butter into our magical Face Moisturizer, right? Next on the list was sun protection, and what follows is a list of the plant wise ingredient from mama earth, that contain natural SPF and their values:

Carrot Seed Essential Oil: 30-40 SPF
Aloe Vera Gel: 6 SPF
Lavender Essential Oil: 6 SPF
Grape Seed Oil: 4 SPF
Coconut Oil: 6 SPF

I have been weary in the past putting oils like these onto my face, feeling like it would only perpetuate the oily glow that happens by the end the day for me. I was incredibly wrong, my skin no longer is trying to keep up with over producing oil to soothe my skin. It is now happy and healthy, and though it may seem odd, the oiliness I once dreaded, is now replaced with healthy, glowing skin.

The products are still perfectly okay for use. To extend the life of your cream, keep in a cool dark place, or in your refrigerator, and always use clean hands for application. (mold is something that can happen if you are not careful to follow these guidelines)
